Arts & Minds Spring Event

Every 3 months Arts & Minds gets its members together at a different venue to do something creative, meet new people and get into a new space. This Spring we’re working with Leeds Art Gallery to bring you a fabulous afternoon of film and creativity at Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley Mills.
There is a film showing at 1.30pm, with limited spaces – so sign up now to reserve your place.
The event is one of many taking place this year at the museum, whilst the Leeds Art Gallery is closed for refurbishment.
We start with a special screening of a 1984 film by American artist Suzanne Lacy called Whisper the Waves, in which the film maker documents conversations between amazing women, covering their lives, relationships, hopes and fears. We ask, 33 years on from the making of the film, if anything has changed.
After the screening we’ll have tea and cake and we’ll work with Jen Sharp from Stitch Up to create a macrame wall hanging that will be displayed as part of the opening celebrations of Leeds Art Gallery in October. If macrame isn’t your thing, there’ll be an alternative creative workshop! You can also find out about lots of creative opportunities that are welcoming to peolple with mental health issues. And meet some intersting people. The film is shown at 1.30pm but you are welcome to join us at any time during the afternoon.
